AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE OF THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED, 6TH HARRY POTTER MOVIE!
Warner Bros. Movie World proudly hosted the Australian Premiere screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ on Sunday 12th July.
After three months of planning and preparing for the highly anticipated 6th instalment of the Harry Potter series, the 300 strong VIP guests including sporting and media personalities were treated to an impressive Red Carpet affair. From the time guests arrived at Warner Bros. Movie World their senses were immersed in an array of mystical and magical highlights; Witches collected guests’ tickets on arrival, followed by an adventurous walk down the Red Carpet that involved dodging magical floating broomsticks and being met by an exciting host of disparate characters and live reptiles, including a snake and a crocodile - which raised a few tentative eyebrows… the VIP buffet breakfast under the Star Pavilion was well received and enjoyed by all as the entertainment continued to evolve on the Red Carpet.
A cheeky chorus of songs were performed by a student choir who joined in the reverie and levitated 12 feet of the stage, while a professor flew over the top of the spell-bound guests’ heads…
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.
Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are reprising their roles as young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The film also stars Jim Broadbent, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall, David Thewlis and Julie Walters. The cast also features David Bradley, Jessie Cave, Frank Dillane, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Helen McCrory, Natalia Tena, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and Bonnie Wright.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ was released in cinemas nationally on Wednesday 15th July 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
